The White Owl

The shrill voice,
Across the silent night sky;
The searing white light,
Across the dark starless sky;
The incessant city lights,
Blinding the sights of the nocturnal beast;
Taking away innocent lives,
In the darkness of the electrocuted lights;
The twisted beak,
Filled with horrors from the folklore;
The silent prey,
Sleeping peacefully;
Aghast of the presence,
Clinging onto the weak twigs;
The greater power,
Foreseeing with visions unseen;
The flapping of wings,
Unperturbed by the sleep;
The uncaring nature,
Fixing the boards of life!
